ALL VOLUNTEERS -- There will be a volunteer orientation session in Meeting Room A of the Iowa City Public Library on August 12th from 6-7 pm. You will receive your free volunteer T-shirt to wear while working and more information about your responsibilities. On the day of your shift, please report to the Volunteer Check-In Booth at least 10 minutes before your shift starts and report back to the booth to check out after completion of your shift.

Positions

SAND HOST -- ensures that teams stay within their designated areas, brings builders water, food, and other refreshments, helps maintain a safe team site by picking up any tools not being used, and makes sure that the event photographer gets a picture of their assignment team

MERCHANDISE BOOTH ATTENDANT -- helps sell festival merchandise (T-shirts, water bottles, etc.), helps set up if working first shift, displays merchandise, makes sure booths have adequate change on hand, helps tear down if working last shift, and helps move left over merchandise to storage if working last shift on last day

WATER BOOTH ATTENDANT -- sells water, Pepsi products, Gatorade products, ice cream treats, and cotton candy

FIRST AID BOOTH ATTENDANT -- handles basic first aid, including handing out Band-Aids, sunscreen, and ice

INFORMATION BOOTH ATTENDANT -- helps festival-goers with any questions or concerns

FUN ZONE BALLOONS, SAND DOLLAR TOKEN, AND SAND PAIL SALESPERSON—helps with balloons booth in the FUN Zone and sells sand dollar tokens to use throughout the festival for voting for the People’s Choice Award sculpture, the paid FUN Zone games, balloons, sand pails and cotton candy

FUN ZONE COTTON CANDY BOOTH ATTENDANT—makes and sells cotton candy in the FUN Zone

FUN ZONE CRAFTS BOOTH ATTENDANT—assists with free crafts including:

beaded necklaces and bracelets, handprint paper octopuses, glitter and sand starfish and a sandcastle coloring contest

FUN ZONE GAMES BOOTH ATTENDANT -- regulates and monitors various games in the FUN Zone including: a dunk tank, jousting, and a bouncy castle
