Iowa Arts Festival
presented by Veridian Credit Union

June 5-7, 2015

Summer of the Arts welcomes residents and tourists to the Iowa Arts Festival in downtown Iowa City the first weekend in June each year.  Our community has been enjoying some tremendous entertainment for over 30 years at our organization’s longest running festival.

The Art Fair features fine artists from all over the country.  Booths line the downtown streets showcasing artists who are displaying and selling their works in painting, jewelry, photography ceramics, metals, wood, and more!  The Emerging Artist Pavilion features up and coming Iowa student artists at the college, high school and youth levels, giving these talented students the opportunity to  gain experience and network with professionals.

Music and talent on both the Main Stage and Family Stage fills the air and gathers the crowds!  Festival goers bring their lawn chairs and take in the free performances from such national talent on the Main Stage as The Indigo Girls, Los Lobos, and The Old 97’s; or local favorites like Euforquestra, Dave Moore, and Lake Street Dive.  The Family Stage features dancers, jugglers, magic shows, and other lively entertainment!

Bring the KIDS and make some memories at any of the areas that have family appeal such as Global Village where you can take a “tour around the world” to learn about different cultures and countries; Children’s Day where kids can play and participate in educational activities and sign up for the Iowa City Public Library Summer Reading Program; or visit the FUN Stops which are scattered throughout the festival with make and take crafts, games, face painting and more!
