Beginning in 1991, The Friday Night Concert Series hosts FREE, family-friendly events on the Pedestrian Plaza downtown Iowa City featuring live music performances by local bands and artists.  The entertainment happens every Friday evening between 6:30 - 9:30 p.m. beginning in mid-May and running through early September (excluding Iowa Arts Festival, Iowa City Jazz Festival and Soul Fest weekends).  Drawing in diverse audiences of all ages and cultural backgrounds, The Friday Night Concert Series attracts crowds ranging anywhere in the hundreds or thousands to it's venue.

Based in the heart of downtown, each live music performance is surrounded by local businesses to eat and drink, making The Friday Night Concert Series a truly unique experience that is its own.  So whether you are looking to sit back and relax or dance the night away, experience the culture that is Iowa City through The Friday Night Concert Series.
