2014 MusicIC

Where Music & Literature Meet
June 18-21

MusicIC, Iowa City’s summer chamber music festival, returns June 18-21 for its fourth season, which will be its second season as a Summer of the Arts Event.  The festival includes three evening concerts,  a Saturday morning family concert, and a mid-week discussion with mini-performance of "The Kreutzer Sonata".  And it’s all free and open to the public.

True to its traditions, the festival features a mix of music, literature and artists of international reputation, many of whom have connections to Iowa City and the University of Iowa.

Under the direction of violinist Tricia Park, Judith Hurtig and Saffron Henke, MusicIC features musicians born or brought up in Iowa City who have the potential for or are embarked upon major careers in music. The festival also includes current and past University of Iowa faculty as well as brilliant young musicians from around the country.
