Summer of the Arts creates nearly 100 premier opportunities for musicians and other stage performers to showcase their talents throughout our season. Below is a bit of information about who we are interested in booking for each of our festivals.

Please indicate on your email subject line which festival(s) you are interested in. Due to the extremely high number of submissions, only those whom we are interested in booking will be contacted. Please be advised that we only hire/show work that is family-friendly and appropriate for all ages.

The Friday Night Concert Series

The Friday Night Concert Series books Johnson County, Iowa, bands only. At least one member of the band must reside in Johnson County, or, the band must be considered to be a "Johnson County" band. This consideration is at the sole discretion of the Friday Night Concert Series booking committee.

The Iowa Arts Festival

Our main stage typically features local openers and well-known national or international headliners.

Children’s performers from all genres of entertainment are featured on our Family Stage for our Global Village and Children’s Day activities. Strolling performers are sometimes hired.

The Iowa City Jazz Festival

As one of the nation’s top 10 jazz festivals, The Iowa City Jazz Festival features well-known national and international acts on the main stage. Three side stages feature performers in the following areas: Youth, College and Local.

Sand in the City, presented by Bank of the West, offers some of the best local or regional talent for our family-friendly adventure in the sand.

Downtown Saturday Night

Downtown Saturday Night, presented by the Downtown Association of Iowa City and MidWestOne Bank, features a wide variety of regional performers.
